Our sleek visual nature, coupled with strong quality writing, has made The South Coast Insider the fastest growing publication with largest circulation in the area.

The South Coast Insider magazine publishes feature stories on local issues and developments, coming events, illustrations and paid advertising. Subjects mainly concern the social, commercial, political and cultural life of South Coast residents. Poetry generally is not published.

Deadline for submissions
The deadline for submissions is three weeks prior to publication date.

Unassigned feature articles
The editor accepts unsolicited manuscripts by e-mail only. Please state availability of photographs or other illustration. We cannot accept responsibilities for manuscripts and art mailed conventionally. We will respond to e-mail submissions within one month of receipt. Queries are not encouraged.

Payment for assigned or accepted articles will be offered in the form of a written contract and issued upon acceptance of completed work. We generally buy first-time print rights and online rights. Payment for unsolicited manuscripts ranges from $20 to $200, depending upon accompanying illustration and treatment in the magazine and web site.

Articles should be no longer than 1,200 words. All are subject to editing.


Unassigned photographs, illustration and art
The editor welcomes unsolicited photographs, illustration and art with self-addressed, stamped envelopes and will try to respond to submissions within one month of receipt. Subjects must relate to the South Coast or be created by a South Coast artist. Color art is preferred.

Submissions should include brief descriptions of each image and artist. Information about the availability of reproductions or prints should also be included.

Only high resolution digital files, high quality prints and transparencies, or original pieces, will be considered. All are subject to cropping in reproduction.
