Phyllis Dobbyn Adams has been painting for over seven years now. Her work has been shown in juried shows and galleries in the area and has won many awards. Phyllis paints mostly landscapes, still lifes and animals but saves her real passion for her dog paintings. She started an art blog of just dog paintings. Most of the postings on her blog are of "Block Dog Paintings" which are created on reclaimed wood. Her paintings are whimsical and colorful but also try to capture the essence and uniqueness of each dog. "Block Dog Art" has been to people all over the world via the internet and also in shops and galleries locally. She does pet portraits, mostly dogs. Phyllis says, "Working on commissioned pet portraits for people in the area gives me great satisfaction. I enjoy the one on one contact and not only sharing dog photos, dogs stories, some sad, some happy, but also sharing a real connection, love of animals and, in particular, dogs."
